Industry Hills Golf Club is an iconic 36-hole facility in the heart of Southern California. The game’s greatest players have played these greens making it a destination for some of the best golfers for over forty years. The Eisenhower (Ike) and the Zaharias (Babe) Courses provide a unique golfing experience. Casey O’Callaghan was brought in to evaluate both courses and to provide a roadmap for future improvements. Both courses play differently and part of the renovation process was to give each course its own identity. Casey’s vision for the courses was to design the bunkers on each course with their own unique style. The Ike is the longer of the two courses with more open fairways and challenging greens. The open faced large bunkers on the Eisenhower Course mirror the straight forward challenging test of golf players experience on this course. The Zaharias Course is the shorter of the two courses but is just as challenging with narrower fairway corridors, water features, and elevation changes. This course feels more like a resort course. The cape and bay bunkering style was used to reflect the character of the Babe. Improvements to the facility included all new sand bunkers, new green complexes, recontoured fairways, a new practice short game area, and a new irrigation system.
